Harvey Meyer from Dunwoody, Georgia will conduct the class. The "Basket Illusion" project will be demonstrated and taught .
You will start by turning a 6" platter. Using the beading tool, you will turn 1/8" beads on both sides of the platter and learn to burn the valley between each bead using sandpaper or Formica. You'll lean how use the jigs to index both sides of the platter to a specified number of segments. Then you lean how to burn the segmented lines over each bead. You will begin dying the segments by following a pattern that will be provide.
Basic turning tools 1/2" bowl gouge with side grind, 3/8" spindle or detail gouge, parting tool, 1/2" round nose scraper
Beading tools from D-way tools the 1/8" is required, the 3/16" is optional.
A pyrography unit with a medium skew pen
Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pens, colors black, sepia, and sanguine. Brush "B" tip and "S"
Many of these items will be available either in the Learning Center or by Harvey Meyer
There will be a Material fee payable to Harvey Meyer of $23, cash or check
Harvey will also have needed items such as the beading tools, burning units, and color pens available for use and for sale
Basic tool control is needed
