Honorary Lifetime Membership Nominations:
Please consider this e-mail as a solicitation of nominations for an Honorary Lifetime Membership. Your nominations should be emailed to me by close of business (5:00 p.m.) on October 21, 2026. The Executive Committee will consider all nominations and make a decision during the Board Meeting on Monday, October 26, 2026.
Article V - Membership and Fees; Paragraph C. of the Ohio Valley By-Laws outlines the process to be used for nominating a member for an Honorary Lifetime Membership (see below). As you will see, it directs the Executive Committee to solicit nominations for this honor from the membership each year in September. Individuals to be nominated should have been active members for several years and should have made significant contributions to the operation of the Guild. This might include service on the Board, mentorship of new members, teaching of classes, coordinating open shops, and other forms of service that have been beneficial to our members. Your nomination should include a brief description clearly stating the contributions/services the person being nominated has made to the Guild.
The individuals listed below have already been recognized with Honorary Lifetime Memberships and should not be nominated again.

ARTICLE V. MEMBERSHIP AND FEES
C. Honorary Lifetime Members: Members who have served OVWG in an
outstanding manner over several years may be recognized as Honorary
Lifetime Members. In September of each year the Executive Committee
will solicit nominations from the membership at large for individuals to
be considered for honorary lifetime membership. The Executive
Committee will make the final decision as to who receives this honor.
Generally, this will result in one appointment per year. However, in
exceptional cases more than one person may be so recognized in the
same year. An honorary lifetime member is exempt from the payment of
OVWG membership fees for the remainder of her/his life.
