Registration Info

Registration is closed
The registration process gives you granular choices so if you don't plan to participate in all of the Demonstration Sessions or eat all of the meals you can pick and choose to suit your needs.

This granular approach makes the list of options a bit long. To see options details expand options list with the down arrow in the black circle to the left of "Activities/Items". During Registration read down the list and check the items that you want by clicking the small box next to the price and skip the rest. This list will be presented for each person you register.

In an effort to promote woodturning to the younger generation we have reduced the Symposium fees for full-time students under age 25. Full instructions on how to get the lower fees are in the instructions at the bottom of this page. Please DO NOT select the Student or Vendor option if you do not qualify.

More detailed instructions are at the bottom of this page. Please READ these instructions CAREFULLY BEFORE registering.

We believe our symposium is very affordable and offers great value. We want you to be able to pick from the attendance, meal and lodging options that best meet your needs.

If you have any questions or difficulties please feel free to call Dave Kratzer 513-290-9609 or email registrar@ovwg.org. He can register you over the phone if you have a credit card.

IMPORTANT SUPPLEMENTAL REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Please read each item on the registration carefully and check the boxes that you desire. Read carefully so you don't miss something you need or want. During registration, you can back up and start over if you need to.

Turning 2019 will be held at The Higher Ground Conference & Retreat Center in rural West Harrison, Indiana. The center is located in a rustic area surrounded by rolling tree filled hills.  This environment encourages attendees to stay on site, dine with new and old friends, and enjoy the camaraderie and open sharing of woodturning experience.

The fee for the various Symposium Demonstration Sessions Pass options DOES NOT INCLUDE meals for the day or days chosen.

To register as a Student you must be a full-time student under age 25. Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied to meetings and activities by a responsible adult.

If you are also registering Spouse, Guest or Child you will have to enter them as 'Guest' at the beginning of your registration process. When you see this:

Click the Me+ button and enter the number of Guests you will be registering in addition to yourself. You then will be asked identifying information and which activities and meals you desire for each person you are registering.

Otherwise, click 'Next' if you want to continue your registration without adding any guests. You can add a Guest to your registration when asked as above or you can register & pay for Guests on separate registrations now or later.

In an effort to promote woodturning to the younger generation we have reduced the Symposium fees for full-time students under age 25. To be presented with the lower fees you will need to select the Student option when you see the below options during registration. The default is Registrant.

If you are a Vendor selling at the Symposium please choose Vendor at this point in the registration process. You will not be charged for Symposium but need to register for the Symposium and also any T-shirt, meals and/or lodging that you desire. You will be charged for the T-shirt, meals & lodging but not the Symposium.

If you qualify as a Student or Vendor please click that option. Please DO NOT select the Student or Vendor option if you do not qualify. We are watching and will contact you if you choose inappropriately. Students under age 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Lodging and meal fees are unchanged for Students.

There are a variety of meal plans and options.  Choose Thursday dinner, either alone or as part of the 9 meal plan, if plan to arrive Thursday or live locally and wish to join us for the featured turners' slideshows on their work. There are 3-day, 8 or 9 meal options for a Guest that will join you but not attend the Symposium Breakout Sessions (this option includes the Saturday Banquet). If Guest will ONLY join you for Saturday Banquet there is an option for that also.

The on-site Check-in / Registration Desk will be located in the lobby of the Graves Family Life Center (opposite dining hall).  The Graves Center is also the main location for Demonstrations as well as the Trade Show and Auction. Check-in / Registration Desk will open on Thursday, October 17, 2019, from 4:00 to 9:00 PM.  It will reopen at 7:30 AM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Dormitory rooms DO NOT include linens or toiletries. Bring your own linens, pillows, towels, and toiletries (including soap, shampoo, etc.) Linen packages are available from Higher Ground at a cost of $15.  Separate dorm facilities are available for men and women. Most dormitory rooms will sleep four persons per room on the bottom level of bunk beds.  A few dormitory rooms will sleep up to 8 people.

Lodge rooms are only available for all three nights. These are private rooms with 2 full-size beds and a bathroom. Similar to a hotel or motel. If you want to share a room with another Symposium attendee one of you should book the room and settle up finances outside of this registration system. No single night rentals available.

We prefer that you register online using a credit card. If you prefer you can select your options and then print your registration invoice and send a check.

If you have questions, special needs not available on the registration, or if you have already registered and need to make a change you can contact the Registrar at email: registrar@ovwg.org or call
Dave Kratzer at 513-290-9609 and register by phone.

Please join us at our premier biennial event. We are sure you will enjoy yourself, make new friends, pick up lots of new ideas, learn new techniques and acquire more wood and tools.

Lodge rooms go quick, so be sure to register early if you want a lodge room on site.  Also, register by July 20th, 2019 to get the discounted price.

Your payment will be for the total of you and anyone else you register. You can pay by credit card on our secure site, or print an invoice and send a check.
