Randy James, a woodturner and wood carver, is reaching out with his family to liquidate his tool and exotic wood collection.  As indicated in the email below, the woodturning & carving tools will be auctioned off on March 24 in Circleville, and the exotic wood collection will be sold on April 7 at his home on the north side of Columbus.

Included in the tools are a Jet variable-speed wood lathe (JWL-1442VS), Jet variable-speed mini lathe (JWL-1014VS), Beall pen wizard,  pen kits & pen turning tools, scroll saw, table saw, miter saw, drill press, and dust filter system.

Hello!

My name is Matt James, and I am reaching out to request your assistance with selling 

my father’s tool and wood collection. My father, Randy James, was an avid woodcarver and woodturner in Central Ohio who was active in a local group of carvers he met through classes at Woodcraft. Over the years, he developed considerable skill and produced many impressive works which we will always cherish. He assembled a large, high-end tool collection and substantial number of exotic woods (cocobolo, ebony, rosewood, bocote, wenge, African blackwood, purpleheart, bubinga, leopardwood, snakewood, etc) as well as basswood and diamond willow walking sticks. 

Unfortunately, my father has developed dementia recently and is now in long-term care. 

To pay for his care and prepare the home for sale, we must liquidate the woodworking 

collection. We have placed the entire tool collection with American Eagle Auction

Company, which will hold an auction at 20060 US Route 23 North, Circleville, Ohio 

43113 on Sunday, March 24 at 8:00am. An inventory of my father’s tools and photos of 

his wood, tools, and a few representative carvings of his work are attached. These will 

be sold as part of a larger tool auction by American Eagle. 

We will also hold an exotic carving and turning wood liquidation sale at his home at 238 Briarbend Boulevard, Powell, Ohio 43065 on Sunday, April 7 from 10:00am to 3:00pm. There are approximately 8 36x18x18 plastic totes of various sizes of wood along with some larger pieces (please see attached pictures). Wood will be priced at approximately 50% of retail.
